Exhibition Diffractis au jardin #11

24 May 2024

I am pleased to invite you to the exhibition Diffractif au Jardin #11, which will take place on Friday, May 31, Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2, 2024, in Bordeaux, in the Saint-Bruno, Judaïque neighborhood.

I will be presenting several works: Montagnes, Postcards from the Edge, and brand new Un col de chemise bleue performances. I am very happy to showcase these performances for the first time in 5 years.

You can find me on Friday from 2 PM to 5 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM in Dominique’s garden, whom I warmly thank for her hospitality, at 27 rue Sullivan, Bordeaux. Every day at 5:30 PM, we will walk together to Agnès' garden at 27 rue Brizard for the performance readings.

Diffractif au Jardin #11
A new proposal by the Diffractif collective
Three days to discover the gardens of Bordeaux and what they inspire in contemporary artists

Diffractif au Jardin #11 is a new invitation to follow a journey to encounter artworks, in the presence of the artists, within two private gardens and the Chartreuse cemetery.
Created in the aftermath of the French Revolution, this heritage site is particularly remarkable and classified as a Historic Monument, while its fauna and flora are also responsibly accommodated.

Featuring Frédérique Bua, Jean-François Chapelle, Christine Duboz, Isabelle Hautefeuille, Guillaume Hillairet, Véronique Lamare, Sara Nebra, Pascal Pas, Gilles Sage, Koré Lechat-Ménard, and Agnès Torres.

Excerpt from the press book:
"During the exhibition, Gilles Sage will present several works: Un col de chemise bleue, Montagnes, and Postcards from the Edge.
Un col de chemise bleue is an intimate reading/performance showcasing fragments of the daily, romantic, and family life of a young artist who writes, blending his obsessions with the small and large things he observes, either with the naked eye or through a screen. Montagnes is a ceramic ensemble representing a Pyrenean landscape.
And Postcards from the Edge is the account of a walking traverse of the Pyrenees, serving as the keystone of this multifaceted set of proposals.
